Availability Heuristic

Users favor recent and available information over past information

The availability heuristic describes our tendency to use information that comes to mind quickly and easily when making decisions about the future.

For Example, Airplanes are very safe, people might think it’s unsafe due to a recent accident that might have taken place, it shows that people use “recent” information as a guiding principle. This means that, as a company, or human being, people will judge you more from the actions that you have recently done rather than something old.

This is also good news for people who want to get rid of their older bad reputation, they can change it by doing a few good things in the interest of public to improve their image.
