Hyperbolic discounting is our inclination to choose immediate rewards over rewards that come later in the future, even when these immediate rewards are smaller.



People want instant gratification rather than delaying happiness for later. If you sell a physical product, mail the product earlier than expected. If you sell the digital item, include an item that they did not include and attach a “value” with it.
