Negativity Bias

Users recall negative events more than positive ones

The negativity bias is a cognitive bias that results in adverse events having a more significant impact on our psychological state than positive events.

This is why marketers remind you of your problems because they affect you more. You can use negative bias to point out issues with people’s lives, then quickly show them how your product and service can help them get rid of that “pain”.

I often tell my customers that, “ If they don’t buy this, it’s ok, they won’t be sleep at night wondering what could have happened if they invested on this”. Almost always, they call/email me next day asking for “discounts” ( they don’t want to embarrass themselves). I tell them no, there is no discount, but i tell them that price will go up tomorrow.. ]
