Reciprocity is a social norm that involves in-kind exchanges between people—responding to another's action with another equivalent action. It is usually positive (e.g. returning a favor), but it can also be negative (e.g. punishing a negative action).
Reciprocity gets people to do you favor but these have to be fresh Reciprocity or else they are not as likely to return the favor, if you gave them a favor long ago, don’t remind them by telling them, instead, use cues.
